Meet Hawley
PhD Candidate - Chemical Engineering
In 2018, I took the MCAT and prepared my applications for medical school. While waiting for my results, I found myself indifferent to my results. I wanted life to push me in a new direction.

Shortly after getting back my MCAT results (with a relatively good score), I attended a panel on nanotechnology research. I loved every minute. A month later , I took the GRE and applied for PhD (not MD) programs across the country.
Now, I'm a PhD student in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington. I got the honor of joining the Nance Lab. Everyday in lab, I enthusiastically study nanotherapeutics and visualize brain disease. I genuinely love what I do.
What I Specialize In
No matter how much I learn - I will always love being a student.
No matter how much I master - I hope I keep the heart of a beginner.
